Abstract
A method of manufacturing a nanowire filament includes forming and fusing actions. In a forming action, close proximity conductors are formed. In another forming action, a junction oxide is formed between the close proximity conductors. In a fusing action, a nanowire filament is fused between the close proximity conductors, through the junction oxide. A circuit is also provided, having first and second close proximity conductors, and a nanowire filament fused between the close proximity conductors.
Claims26
A circuit, comprising:
- first and second close proximity conductors;
- and a nanowire filament fused between the close proximity conductors.
A thermocouple reference junction, comprising:
- the circuit of claim 23;
- and a heat source coupled to the bi-metallic nanowire filament.
A method of measuring, monitoring, or detecting an analyte, comprising monitoring the electrical state of a nanowire filament which is formed between close proximity conductors.
An integrated circuit, comprising:
- a bimetallic nanowire filament;
- and means for heating the nanowire filament to a known temperature.
A sensor comprising:
- a sensing nanowire filament coupled between first and second nodes;
- a first nanowire filament of known resistance, coupled between the second node and a third node;
- a second nanowire filament of the known resistance, coupled between the first node and a fourth node;
- a third nanowire filament of the known resistance, coupled between the fourth node and the third node;
- a controller coupled to the second and fourth nodes;
- and means for electrically biasing the first node relative to the third node.
