Abstract
Provided are methods and compositions for detecting and treating normal, hypoplastic, ectopic or remnant tissue, organ or cells in a mammal. The method comprises parenterally injecting a mammalian subject, at a locus and by a route providing access to said tissue or organ, with an composition comprising antibody/fragment which specifically binds to targeted organ, tissue or cell. The antibody/fragment may be administered alone, or labeled or conjugated with an imaging, therapeutic, cytoprotective or activating agent.

Use of a composition comprising an antibody or antibody fragment specific to a marker associated with or produced by a normal cell or tissue, whereby ablation of the normal cells or tissues can treat diseases related to the function of said normal cells or tissues.
The use according to claim 78, wherein the antibody or antibody fragment is conjugated.
The use according to claim 79, wherein the antibody or antibody fragment is conjugated to a cytoprotective agent.
The use according to claim 79, wherein the antibody or antibody fragment is conjugated to a cytotoxic agent.
A kit comprising a first composition that is an antibody or antibody fragment specific to an antigen produced by or associated with normal cells or tissues, wherein said antibody or antibody fragment is a streptavidin-conjugated antibody or fragment, a biotinylated antibody or fragment, a bifunctional antibody or fragment, a complex of an antibody or antibody fragment and a hapten, or an enzyme-conjugated antibody or fragment, and a second composition that couples with the first composition and carries a cytotoxic agent.
