Abstract
According to some embodiments, context information associated with a processing system is determined. It is then automatically arranged for a power state associated with the processing system to transition from a first power state to a second power state based on the context information.
Claims25
A method, comprising:
- determining context information associated with a processing system that includes a number of subsystems;
- and
- automatically arranging for a power state associated with the processing system to transition from a first power state to a second power state based on the context information.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a number of subsystems;
- a processor;
- and
- a power manager to:
- (i) evaluate context information associated with the apparatus, and (ii) arrange for a power state associated with the apparatus to transition from a first power state to a second power state based on the evaluation.
2 more elements
A computer system, comprising:
- a number of subsystems;
- a processor;
- a battery to supply power to the processor;
- and
- a power manager to:
- (i) determine minimum subsystem requirements associated with a plurality of applications being executed by the processor, and (ii) arrange for a power state associated with a subsystem to transition from a first power state to a second power state based on a largest minimum subsystem requirement for that subsystem.
3 more elements
An article, comprising:
- a storage medium having stored thereon instructions that when executed by a machine result in the following:
- determining context information associated with a processing system that includes a number of subsystems, and
- arranging for a power state associated with the processing system to transition without user input from a first power state to a second power state based on the context information.
