Abstract
A lamp bracket and illumination optics assembly interface including at least one bracket engaging member formed on the illumination optics; and a receiving member formed on the lamp bracket corresponding to the bracket engaging member such that the bracket engaging member is configured to be received at least partially within the receiving member in an overlapping configuration.

A lamp bracket and illumination optics assembly interface, comprising:
- at least one bracket engaging member formed on said illumination optics;
- and
- a receiving member formed on said lamp bracket corresponding to said bracket engaging member such that said bracket engaging member is configured to be received at least partially within said receiving member in an overlapping configuration.
An assembly for use in projector systems, comprising:
- an illumination optics mount configure to have an integrator rod coupled thereto and having at least one bracket engaging member;
- and
- a lamp bracket having a receiving member with inner surfaces, wherein a cross section of the inner surfaces substantially corresponds to a shape of the bracket engaging member such that the illumination optics mount is configured to be at least partially disposed within the lamp bracket such that an alignment of said illumination optics mount with respect to said bracket engaging member is subject to two total tolerances.
A display system, comprising:
- an imaging processing unit;
- a light source;
- an illumination optics assembly;
- a lamp bracket coupling said light source light source to said illumination optics assembly such that a portion of said illumination optics assembly is received within said lamp bracket such that an alignment of said illumination optics assembly relative to said lamp bracket is subject to two total tolerances;
- and
- a spatial light modulator in optical communication with said illumination optics assembly.
A method of forming a lamp bracket, comprising:
- forming a receiving member, wherein said receiving member includes an inner surface, said inner surface being formed subject to a single tolerance and said receiving member being configured to receive at least one bracket engaging member at least partially therein.
The method of claim 35, wherein forming said inner surface includes passing a machine tool along tool paths parallel to major axes of said machine tool.
A method of forming an illumination optics mount, comprising:
- forming at least one bracket engaging member having an outer surface subject to a single tolerance and wherein said bracket engaging member is configured to be placed into contact with an inner surface of a receiving member.
A method of coupling an illumination optics assembly to a lamp bracket, comprising:
- forming an illumination optics assembly having an illumination optics mount;
- forming a lamp bracket having a receiving member corresponding in shape to a portion of said illumination optics mount;
- and
- placing said portion of said illumination optics mount at least partially within said receiving member such that an alignment of said lamp bracket relative to said illumination optics assembly is subject to two total tolerances.
The method of 36, wherein forming said illumination optics assembly includes coupling an integrator rod to said illumination optics mount.
An interface, comprising:
- a lamp bracket;
- an illumination optics assembly;
- and
- receiving means for overlappingly receiving at least a portion of said illumination optics assembly within said lamp bracket such that an alignment of said lamp bracket to said illumination optics assembly is subject to two total tolerances.
