Modular orthopaedic implant system

A modular orthopaedic implant kit, comprising:

• a first terminal end bone component configured to replace a first terminal end portion of a bone, said first terminal end bone component having a first coupling;
• a bone replacement component configured to replace a second portion of said bone and having a second coupling;
• and
• a plurality of first intermediate components each being configured to be secured at a location interposed between said first terminal end bone component and said bone replacement component,
• wherein each of said plurality of first intermediate components has (i) a third coupling configured to mate with said second coupling of said bone replacement component, and (ii) a fourth coupling, and
• wherein said plurality of first intermediate components include a group of five (5) first intermediate components that possess lengths of 25 mm, 30 mm, 35 mm, 40 mm and 45 mm, respectively.

A modular orthopaedic implant kit, comprising:

• a first terminal end bone component configured to replace a first terminal end portion of a bone, said first terminal end bone component having a first coupling;
• a bone replacement component configured to replace a second portion of said bone and having a second coupling;
• and
• a plurality of first intermediate components each being configured to be secured at a location interposed between said first terminal end bone component and said bone replacement component,
• wherein each of said plurality of first intermediate components has (i) a third coupling configured to mate with said second coupling of said bone replacement component, and (ii) a fourth coupling, and
• wherein said plurality of first intermediate components possess respective lengths that increase in magnitude in increments of X mm from smallest to largest, and
• wherein 1 mm≦X≦6 mm.
