Abstract
The present invention provides methods for inducing apoptosis in a tumor cell by contacting the cell with a caspase-9 inhibitor.

A method for inducing apoptosis in a tumor cell comprising, contacting the tumor cell with an apoptosis-inducing molecule comprising a tetrapeptide moiety having an amino acid sequence numbered P4-P3-P2-P1, wherein P2 is a histidine residue, and wherein the tetrapeptide is a proapoptotic molecule.
