Engraveable pet collar

An engraveable pet collar comprising:

• at least two layers of flexible material with an opening formed through at least one of the at least two layers of flexible material;
• at least one engraveable pet identification tag, said tag positioned between the at least two layers of flexible material and aligned with the opening wherein the at least two layers of flexible material are connected together securing the at least one engraveable pet identification tag in position at least partially within the opening;
• and
• at least one connector coupled to the at least two layers of flexible material for releasably attaching the pet collar to a pet.

A method of engraving an engraveable pet collar, comprising:

• placing an engraveable pet collar on an engraving table support surface;
• aligning the engraveable pet collar with an alignment device associated with the support surface;
• moving a clamp in relation to the support surface until it abuts the engraveable pet collar;
• sensing an indication of at least one positional characteristic of the clamp;
• automatically identifying an engraveable pet collar as the object on the support surface;
• and
• engraving an engraveable pet identification tag secured to the pet collar.

An engraveable pet collar comprising:

• at least one piece of flexible material wherein the at least one piece of flexible material further comprises an opening;
• at least one engraveable pet identification tag wherein the at least one engraveable pet identification tag is positioned so that it is visible through the opening in the at least one piece of flexible material;
• the at least one piece of flexible material further being connected to itself in order to secure the at least one engraveable pet identification tag in position;
• and
• a connector coupled to the at least one piece of flexible material, wherein the connector releasably attaches the engraveable pet collar to a pet.
