Abstract
A method comprising generating a transfer configuration descriptor (“TCD”), said TCD comprising information pertaining to data to be transferred. The method further comprises dynamically configuring a direct memory access (“DMA”) channel based on said TCD without using a CPU and transferring a group of data blocks by way of said DMA channel.

A method, comprising:
- generating a transfer configuration descriptor (“TCD”) comprising information pertaining to data to be transferred;
- dynamically configuring a direct memory access (“DMA”) channel based on said TCD without using a CPU;
- and
- transferring a group of data blocks by way of said DMA channel.

- a host interface (“HI”) adapted to generate a TCD comprising information pertaining to data to be transferred;
- and
- a host coupled to the HI, said host adapted to dynamically configure a DMA channel based on the TCD without using a host CPU;
- wherein the HI transfers a group of data blocks to the host by way of the DMA channel.

- a receiver, comprising:
- a host interrupt interface (“HII”) adapted to generate a TCD comprising information on data to be transferred;
- a host transfer interface (“HTI”) comprising a FIFO module coupled to the HII, said FIFO module adapted to transfer said TCD;

- a host coupled to the HTI, said host adapted to configure a single DMA channel based on the TCD;
- and
- at least one mobile communication device in wireless communications with the receiver;
- wherein the FIFO module transfers a group of received data blocks from the HTI to the host by way of the DMA channel.
