A food composition comprises an antioxidant component comprising at least one of alpha-lipoic acid and L-carnitine, said composition meeting ordinary nutritional requirements for an adult canine or feline.

A food composition comprising an antioxidant component that comprises at least one of alpha-lipoic acid and L-carnitine, said composition meeting ordinary nutritional requirements for an adult canine or feline.
A food composition comprising an antioxidant component that comprises
- (a) alpha-lipoic acid in an amount of about 100 ppm to about 200 ppm,
- (b) L-carnitine in an amount of about 200 ppm to about 400 ppm,
- (c) vitamin E in an amount of about 500 ppm to about 1000 ppm, and
- (d) vitamin C in an amount of at least about 100 ppm;
- said composition meeting ordinary nutritional requirements for an adult canine.
