Abstract
A tag line insulator for interposition into a tag line, said tag line being attached to a load and for cooperation with a rigger, said tag line insulator comprising: a first end for attachment to a load; a second end for attachment to a tag line; an insulator body arranged between the first and second ends to prevent conduction of electricity through the tag line insulator. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Claims31
A tag line insulator for interposition into a tag line, said tag line being attached to a load and for cooperation with a rigger, said tag line insulator comprising:
- a first end for attachment to a load;
- a second end for attachment to a tag line;
- an insulator means arranged between the first and second ends for insulating against conduction of electricity through the tag line insulator.
The use of a tag line insulator in a tag line, wherein said tag line is attached to a load and said tag line insulator is electrically insulating.
A tag line insulator for interposition into a tag line, said tag line being adapted to be attached to a load and for cooperation with a rigger, said tag line insulator comprising:
- a first end adapted to be coupled to a load;
- a second end adapted to be coupled to a tag line;
- and
- insulator body arranged between the first and second ends and formed of an insulative material which resists conduction of electricity through the tag line insulator.
A tag line insulator system for use with a tag line adapted to be attached to a load and for cooperation with a rigger, said tag line insulator system comprising:
- a first end adapted to be coupled to a load;
- a second end adapted to be coupled to a tag line;
- an insulator body arranged between the first and second ends and adapted to resist conduction of electricity through the tag line insulator;
- and
- warning circuitry adapted to detect the resistance across the insulator body and to output a warning signal if the detected resistance drops below a predetermined value.
A method of insulating a rigger from a load, comprising:
- coupling a first end of an insulator body to a load;
- coupling a second end of the insulator body to a tag line;
- and
- resisting conduction of electricity between the first and second ends using said insulator body.
