The present invention relates to a vessel, in particular a pipe, especially an oil pipe, having a preformed film adhered onto the interior surface of the pipe, the interior surface of the preformed film reducing the deposition of at least one of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale by at least 40% as compared to the interior surface of said oil pipe without said preformed film being present. In a preferred embodiment, the preformed film is adhered to the interior surface of the pipe with a primer layer with an optional barrier layer between the primer layer and the preformed film.
An oil pipe having a primer layer adhered to its interior surface and a preformed fluoropolymer film adhered to said primer layer.
A pipe having a primer layer comprising a fluoropolymer and heat resistant polymer binder adhered to its interior surface and a preformed fluoropolymer film adhered to said primer layer.
An oil pipe having a preformed film adhered onto the interior surface of the pipe, the interior surface of said preformed film reducing the deposition of at least one of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale by at least 40% as compared to the interior surface of said oil pipe without said preformed film being present.
Process for forming a nonstick surface on the interior surface of a pipe, comprising (a) applying primer coating to said surface (b) heating said coating to form a primer layer on said surface (c) applying a preformed fluoropolymer film on said primer layer, and (d) fusion bonding said preformed fluoropolymer film to said primer layer.
The process of 22 wherein said tubular liner of said preformed film is applied to the interior surface of said pipe by gripping one end of said liner, pulling said liner into said pipe, mechanically reducing said liner, releasing said liner and allowing said liner to expand into tight engagement with said primer coating on said interior surface of said pipe.
A process of reducing the deposition of at least one of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale by adhering a preformed fluoropolymer film to the interior surface of the pipe, wherein at least one of the asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale are reduced by at least 40% by as compared to the interior surface of said oil pipe without said preformed film being present.
A process for transporting oil in a pipe having a preformed film adhered onto the interior surface of the pipe, the interior surface of said preformed film reducing the deposition of at least one of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale by at least 40% as compared to the interior surface of said oil pipe without said preformed film being present.
