Polarizer for a multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display

A polarizer for a multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display, comprising:

• a first protective film;
• a first linear polarizing film;
• a first biaxial film;
• a first quarter-wave film;
• a second quarter-wave film;
• a second biaxial film;
• a second linear polarizing film;
• and
• a second protective film;
• wherein the first protective film, the first linear polarizing film, the first biaxial film, the first quarter-wave film, the second quarter-wave film, the second biaxial film, the second linear polarizing film and the second protective film are placed in order from a backlight source, an absorption axis of the first linear polarizing film is substantially perpendicular to an absorption axis of the second linear polarizing film, and a slow axis of the first quarter-wave film is substantially perpendicular to a slow axis of the second quarter-wave film.
