METHOD OF A MOUNTING OF METAL SHEET RING ASSEMBLIED AND WELDED IN A CARRIER HOOP TO CONFORM THE ANNULAR COOLING TUBE OF A PISTON OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, of the type that uses a metal sheet ring (5), whose cross section comprises a web (15) extending between two fins (10) and (11) projecting towards the carrier hoop (6), wherein the free ends of said fins rest on and couple to respective annular seats (8) and (9) being defined in the internal face of the carrier hoop, matching its curbs of internal edge;
- where said support and coupling are sealed by respective annular welding beads (14) extending along the mentioned annular seats and rest on the body of the carrier hoop, being conformed an internal annular cooling tube (3) which inside surface is constituted by a metal sheet ring and the internal diametrical surface (7) of the carrier hoop extending between both annular seats, characterized in that for said support and coupling it is presented a preform of the metal sheet ring (5) that has a fin (10′) of the “U” cross section thereof open at an angle larger than the other one (11), such that the free end of said preform fin (10′) is less than the diameter of the interior surface (7) of the carrier hoop (6);
- whereas the diameter of the free end of the' other fin, (11) of the same preform is greater than that' of said interior surface (7) of the support hoop (6), being the mounting completed with a final stamping operation performed by means of a ‘tool (I1) that has external dies 06/37) which provide the ultimate support and format to said fin (10) of the metal sheet ring (5).
