Abstract
The present invention relates to a method to treat certain ocular complications, comprising the administration of an effective amount of a FAD to a patient in need of such treatment.
Claims8
A method for antagonizing the effect of endothelin-1 on ocular blood vessels, comprising the topical administration of an effective amount of a 13,14-dihydro-15-keto-FAD to an eye of a subject in need of such treatment.
The method of claim 7, wherein the 13,14-dihydro-15-keto-FAD is a 13,14-dihydro-15-keto-FAD in accordance to formula (I),

- wherein Y is a saturated or unsaturated C2-6 hydrocarbon chain wherein some of the carbon atoms constituting the hydrocarbon chain may form a carbonyl group, and wherein the hydrocarbon chain may be substituted with one or more atoms or groups;
- and,
- wherein Z is a C1-10 saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon which is straight-chain, branched-chain or which forms a ring, wherein the hydrocarbon may be substituted with atoms or groups, or physiologically acceptable salts or esters thereof.
