Abstract
The present invention provides methods to be used in seismic data processing to address problems encountered during data acquisition from a limited number of receivers. The present invention applies parametric methods to provide superior wavemember resolution.

A method of seismic analysis comprising acquiring seismic data, applying a temporal Fourier transform to the seismic data to yield transformed data, applying a spatial wavenumber estimation based on a parametric algorithm to the transformed data, and generating a wavenumber spectrum from the parametric algorithm.
