Abstract
In a portable telephone having a rechargeable battery, an electrically conductive outer cover of the rechargeable battery is connected at a plurality of locations to a ground layer of a circuit board provided within the portable telephone.

A portable telephone comprising:
- a telephone body having a circuit board;
- a casing of said telephone body;
- and
- a battery arranged within said casing and having an electrically conductive outer cover grounded at a plurality of locations to a ground layer of said circuit board.
