Multimedia re-editor

A method for processing a re-editable multimedia document comprising the steps of:

• loading an electronic text file;
• associating at least one external multimedia element with a selected portion of said loaded electronic text file;
• storing said association in a separate electronic attributes file;
• and,
• responsive to a user-activation of said selected portion of said loaded electronic text file, invoking said at least one associated external multimedia element.

A machine readable storage having stored thereon a computer program for processing a re-editable multimedia document, said computer program comprising a routine set of instructions for causing the machine to perform the steps of:

• loading an electronic text file;
• associating at least one external multimedia element with a selected portion of said loaded electronic text file;
• storing said association in a separate electronic attributes file;
• and,
• responsive to a user-activation of said selected portion of said loaded electronic text file, invoking said at least one associated external multimedia element.

A method for processing a re-editable multimedia document comprising the steps of:

• creating an electronic dictionary file comprising a plurality of words and corresponding definitions;
• associating at least one external multimedia element with at least one portion of at least one of said words and definitions in said electronic dictionary file;
• storing said association in a separate electronic attributes file;
• and,
• responsive to a user-activation of said selected portion of said loaded electronic text file, invoking said at least one associated external multimedia element.
