Abstract
A system of performing a medical procedure, such as surgery, is provided. The system comprises a compression member for compressing a body portion and a means for controlling the compression. Methods and devices for performing the medical procedure are also provided.
Claims14
compression system for controlling blood flow during a medical procedure, comprising:
- at least one compression member to cover a body portion, the compression member including a plurality of limb openings;
- and
- control unit coupled to the compression member to activate compression of the compression member, wherein the control unit activates compression of the compression member at timed intervals to circulate blood during the medical procedure.
A system for controlling blood flow to a target area during a coronary artery bypass procedure comprising:
- at least one compression member to cover a body portion, the compression member including a vessel harvesting opening and a plurality of body limb openings,
- wherein the vessel harvesting opening is positioned on the compression member so that a blood vessel may be harvested through the vessel harvesting opening;
- and
- a control unit to activate compression of the compression member, wherein the control unit activates compression of the compression member in synchronization with the beating of a heart.
1 more element
A compression system for controlling blood flow during a medical procedure, comprising
- means for compressing at least a portion of a body;
- and
- means for controlling the compression means to compress the compression means at timed intervals to assist blood circulation.
