Abstract
Improved isocyanate-based formulations which are useful laminating adhesives for flexible packaging. The low viscosity formulations have enhanced processing characteristics at reduced temperatures.
Claims18
An isocyanate-based composition, useful as a laminating adhesive for flexible packaging, comprising the reaction product of:
- a) at least one polymeric polyol comprising;
- i) at least one alkylene diol;
- ii) at least one diol containing a pendant aliphatic chain;
- iii) at least one dicarboxylic acid;
- with
- b) at least one NCO-terminated polyurethane prepolymer (part B) comprising;
- i) at least one polymeric polyol;
- ii) at least one polyisocyanate;
- wherein said laminating adhesive has an initial viscosity less than about 25,000 mPa·s at 25° C.+/−5.0° C.
