Apparatus for recording data, method for recording data and television program receiver

A method of recording data, comprising the steps of:

• inputting related information sent through a data transmission path, said related information being related to main information sent in a pressed duration through the data transmission path, said related information containing amount information indicating an amount of said main information;
• setting a recording reservation of said main information based on said prescribed duration;
• ensuring at least one vacant area on a recording medium according to said recording reservation and the amount information contained in said related information;
• re-reserving to change the regarding reservation of said main information according to said related information if changing of the recording reservation is needed by said related information inputted at least when said prescribed duration is to be changed;
• and
• re-ensuring at least one new vacant area on the recording medium according to the changed recording reservation by said re-reserving step and the amount information included in said related information.

A television program receiver, comprising:

• a digital receiver configured to receive a television program which is included in a digital broadcasting signal transmitted from television broadcasting stations and an electric program guide relating to said digital television program;
• a reserving device which is configured to reserve a recording of said digital television program on a recording medium in correspondence with an input time of said digital television program to said digital receiver and supplies said digital television program inputted from said digital receiver during a reserved period of time to a recording device;
• a recording control device configured to control recording on said recording medium by said recording device, which ensures an area for recording said digital television program to a vacant area of said recording medium by a capacity corresponding to the amount of data of said digital television program of which recording is reserved by said reserving device;
• and
• a re-reserving device configured to control said reserving device and said recording control device in correspondence with the change of the contents of said electric program guide relating to said digital television program in order to reset said reserved period of time and ensuring area.

A television program receiver, comprising:

• a digital receiver configured to receive a television program which is included in a digital broadcasting signal transmitted from television broadcasting stations and an electric program guide relating to said digital television program;
• a recording device for recording said digital television program supplied from said digital receiver,
• a control device configured to reserve a recording of said digital television program on a recording medium in correspondence with an input time of said digital television program to said digital receiver, to control recording on said recording medium, and to ensure an area for recording said digital television program to a vacant area of said recording medium by a capacity corresponding to the amount of data of said digital television program of which recording is reserved by said reserving device;
• and
• a timer configured to designate a reserved period of time for said control device to supply said digital television program inputted from said digital receiver to said recording device.
