A photopolymerizable lithographic printing plate having a photosensitive layer containing a photopolymerization initiator, a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and a polymer binder, and a protective layer provided in this order on a hydrophilic support, wherein an amount of the compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond in the photosensitive layer is from 30% to 70% by weight, and oxygen permeability of the protective layer is from 1×10−15 to 1×10−1 [cm3(STP)·cm/cm2·sec·cmHg].
A photopolymerizable lithographic printing plate comprising a photosensitive layer containing a photopolymerization initiator, a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and a polymer binder, and a protective layer provided in this order on a hydrophilic support, wherein an amount of the compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond in the photosensitive layer is from 30% to 70% by weight based on the total weight of the photosensitive layer, and oxygen permeability of the protective layer is from 1×10−15 to 1×10−1 [cm3(STP)·cm/cm2·sec·cmHg].

The present invention relates to a photopolymerizable lithographic printing plate and more particularly to a photopolymerizable lithographic printing plate having high sensitivity and high contrast.
A high output small-sized solid laser, semiconductor laser and gas laser for emitting ultraviolet rays, visible light or infrared rays having a wavelength of from 300 nm to 1,200 nm are easily available. These lasers are very useful as light source for process which comprises making a printing plate directly from digital data from computer, etc.
Various recording materials sensitive to these laser beams have been studied. Representative examples of the recording material include firstly recording materials capable of being recorded with an infrared laser having a wavelength of 760 nm or more, for example, positive-working recording materials disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 4,708,925 and acid catalyst-crosslinkable negative-working recording materials disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1997-276558.
A negative-working photosensitive lithographic printing plate was prepared in the following manner. The negative-working photosensitive lithographic printing plate thus prepared was then evaluated for printing properties. The results are set forth in Table 2.
