Abstract
A Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) Ball Grid Array (BGA) socket assembly (1) comprises a base (10) defining a plurality of passageways (13) therein, a cover (20) slidably mounted on the base and defining a plurality of holes (23) in alignment with corresponding passageways, and a pick up cap (40, 40′, 40″) fixed on the cover. The pick up cap includes a top plate (42, 42′, 42″) disposed on the cover, and a plurality of latch arms (44, 44′, 44″) downwardly and inwardly extending from opposite ends of the top plate for fixing the pick up cap on the cover.
Claims10
A ball grid array socket assembly, comprising:
- a base defining a plurality of passageways therein;
- a plurality of terminals received in the passageways;
- a cover movably mounted on the base and defining a plurality of holes in alignment with corresponding passageways;
- and
- a pick up cap having a top plate disposed on the cover and a plurality of downwardly extending latch arms for fixing the pick up cap on the cover.
A pick up cap used with an electrical connector for suction by a vacuum pick up device, comprising:
- a top plate adapted for being disposed on an electrical connector;
- and
- at least a pair of latch arms downwardly and inwardly extending from opposite ends of the top plate adapted for fixing the pick up cap on the connector.
An electrical connector assembly comprising:
- a base defining a plurality of passageways therein;
- a plurality of terminals disposed in the corresponding passageways, respectively;
- a cover movably, along a front-to-back direction, mounted on the base with a plurality of through hole in alignment with the corresponding passageways, respectively;
- a pair of heat sink locking lugs formed on opposite front and rear walls for use with a clip of a heat sink assembly when a CPU is mounted upon the cover;
- and
- a pick up cap extending along a whole dimension of said cover along said front-to-back direction with two opposite hook portions extending at two lengthwise ends thereof and latched with the corresponding lugs, respectively.
