Automotive information systems

An automotive information lighting system comprising:

• at least one LED;
• a processor wherein the processor controls the at least one LED and the processor is associated with a receiver for receiving signals;
• a display wherein the at least one LED is directed to cause illumination of the display;
• a sensor for sensing and transmitting signals.

A method of illuminating an interior of a vehicle, comprising:

• providing an illumination system that is responsive to an input that is representative of an item of information;
• providing an information system for supplying input to the illumination system;
• and
• controlling the lighting system to produce illumination in response to input from the information system.

A method of providing an automotive instrument panel with informational lighting comprising:

• providing at least two different colored LEDs;
• providing a processor wherein the processor controls the at least two different colored LEDs and the processor is associated with a receiver for receiving signals;
• providing an instrument display wherein the at least two LEDs are directed to cause illumination of the instrument display;
• and
• providing a sensor for sensing and transmitting signals.

A method of providing an automotive information lighting system comprising:

• providing at least one LED;
• providing a processor wherein the processor controls the at least one LED and the processor is associated with a receiver for receiving signals;
• providing a display wherein the at least one LED is directed to cause illumination of the display;
• and
• providing a sensor for sensing and transmitting signals.

An illumination system for the interior of a vehicle, comprising:

• an illumination system that is responsive to an input that is representative of an item of information;
• an information system for supplying input to the illumination system;
• and
• a controller for controlling the lighting system to produce illumination in response to input from the information system.
