Abstract
A wash fluid containment system includes an elevated, fluid impervious surface upon which items to be washed are placed for washing. The surface is configured to cause wash fluid to flow to an edge of the surface and off of the surface to prevent buildup of wash fluid on the surface. A collecting trough is positioned in fluid flow communication with the edges of the surface to which the fluid flows to catch and collect the fluid as it flows from the surface. Used wash fluid is taken from the collecting trough for disposal or recycling and solids and debris can be easily removed from the trough.
Claims18
A wash fluid containment system, comprising:
- An elevated, fluid impervious surface upon which to position an item to be washed, said surface configured to cause fluid to flow to an edge thereof to prevent buildup of fluid thereon;
- and
- a collecting trough in fluid flow communication with the edge of the surface to which fluid flows to receive and confine the fluid as it flows from the surface:
A wash fluid containment system comprising:
- a plurality of supporting rails:
- a plurality of fluid flow channels between individual rails of said plurality of rails;
- and
- a collecting trough in fluid flow communication with the plurality of fluid flow channels to collect fluid flowing from said fluid flow channels.
A method of containing wash fluid used to wash an item comprising the steps of:
- positioning an item to be washed on an elevated, substantially fluid impervious surface which is configured to direct wash fluid used to wash the item to one or more sides of the surface where it flow from the surface;
- positioning a collecting trough along the one or more side of the surface from which the fluid flows in flow communication therewith;
- and
- removing the wash fluid from the collecting trough.
