Method for reading data from unbalanced disk

A method for reading data from an unbalanced disk in a disk drive comprising the steps of:

• measuring a degree of unbalance of said disk while commencing a rotation of said disk;
• determining a suitable rotating speed for error-free reading corresponding to said measured degree of unbalance, based on a previously stored relationship between degree of unbalance and suitable rotating speed, said determined rotating speed being a maximum rotating speed;
• and
• beginning a reading operating while rotating said disk at said maximum rotating speed.

A method for reading data from an unbalanced disk in a disk drive comprising the steps of:

• measuring a degree of unbalance of said disk while rotating said disk at a predetermined speed, and determining whether or not said measured degree of unbalance is less than a reference value associated with said predetermined rotating speed of said disk;
• if said measured degree of unbalance is less than said reference value, then determining whether or not said rotating speed is a maximum rotating speed for error-free reading, and beginning a reading operation when it is determined that said rotating speed is said maximum rotating speed;
• incrementing said rotating speed by one stage when it is determined said rotating speed is not said maximum rotating speed;
• and
• if said measured degree of unbalance exceeds said reference value, then decreasing said rotating speed by one decrement, and beginning a reading operation at said decremented rotating speed.
