Abstract
A sticky element, comprising a sticky element having an insect-attracting color and an insect-attracting scent, the sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of the insect contacts with the sticky element, the sticky element adaptable to being disposed upon a surface. The surface may comprise a wrapping material, a flower pot cover, a flower pot, a floral arrangement, or other surface. When the sticky element is disposed on a wrapping material, the wrapping material is used to wrap a floral arrangement or decoratively cover a flower pot.

- means for disposing the sticky element on the surface, the sticky element providing sufficient sticky qualities to the surface when disposed thereon;
- providing the surface;
- and
- disposing the adhesive on the surface, the sticky element retaining sufficient sticky qualities when disposed thereon, whereby the sticky element causes a permanent attachment of an insect on the surface by causing any portion of the insect which contacts the surface having the sticky element thereon to become permanently attached thereto.
A flower pot cover suitable for disposing on a flower pot, comprising:
- a flower pot cover formed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer periphery;
- a sticky element disposed upon a surface of the flower pot cover, the sticky element having an insect-attracting color and an insect-attracting scent, the sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of the insect comes into contact with the sticky element;
- and
- means for disposing the sticky element upon a surface of the flower pot cover, the sticky element providing sufficient sticky qualities to the flower pot cover when disposed thereon.
A method of disposing a flower pot cover on a flower pot, comprising:
- providing a flower pot cover suitable for disposing on a flower pot, comprising:
- a flower pot cover formed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer periphery;
- a sticky element disposed upon a surface of the flower pot cover, the sticky element having an insect-attracting color and an insect-attracting scent, the sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of the insect comes into contact with the sticky element;
- means for disposing the sticky element upon a surface of the flower pot cover, the sticky element providing sufficient sticky qualities to the flower pot cover when disposed thereon;
- providing a flower pot;
- and
- inserting the flower pot into the flower pot cover, wherein the flower pot contacts a surface of the flower pot cover having a sticky element thereon, the flower pot cover substantially surrounding and covering the outer surface of the flower pot, and wherein said sticky element on a surface of the flower pot cover effectively causes a permanent attachment of an insect thereto when any portion of the insect contacts a surface of the sticky element.
A method of disposing a flower pot cover on a flower pot, comprising:
- providing a flower pot cover, comprising:
- a flower pot cover formed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer periphery;
- a sticky element disposed upon a surface of the sheet of material, the sticky element having an insect-attracting color and an insect-attracting scent, the sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of the insect comes into contact with the sticky element;
- means for disposing the sticky element upon a surface of the sheet of material, the sticky element providing sufficient sticky qualities to the flower pot cover when disposed thereon;
- providing a flower pot having a sticky element thereon;
- and
- inserting the flower pot into the flower pot cover, wherein the flower pot and the sticky element thereon contacts a surface of the flower pot cover having a sticky element thereon, thereby connecting the flower pot and the flower pot cover, the flower pot cover substantially surrounding and covering the outer surface of the flower pot, wherein the sticky element on the flower pot and the sticky element on a surface of the flower pot cover effectively causes a permanent attachment of an insect thereto when any portion of the insect contacts said sticky elements.
A wrapping material for wrapping a floral arrangement, comprising:
- a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer periphery, the sheet of material suitable for wrapping about a floral arrangement;
- a sticky element having an insect-attracting color and an insect-attracting scent, the sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of the insect contacts the sticky element;
- means for disposing the sticky element on a surface of the sheet of material, the sticky element providing sufficient sticky qualities to the sheet of material when disposed thereon.
Method of wrapping a floral arrangement with a wrapping material, comprising:
- providing a wrapping material comprising:
- a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer periphery, the sheet of material suitable for wrapping about a floral arrangement;
- a sticky element having an insect-attracting color and an insect-attracting scent, the sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of the insect contacts the sticky element;
- means for disposing the sticky element on a surface of the sheet of material, the sticky element providing sufficient sticky qualities to the sheet of material when disposed thereon;
- providing a floral arrangement;
- and
- wrapping the sheet of material about the floral arrangement by overlapping a portion of the sheet of material over another portion of the sheet of material and bonding the overlapping portions of the sheet of material together by contacting the sticky element on each overlapping portion of the sheet of material with a corresponding adjacent portion of the sheet of material wherein the sticky element on the sheet of material contacts the sheet of material to connect the overlapping portions of the sheet of material together, the connected sheet of material substantially encompassing and surrounding a substantial portion of the floral arrangement, wherein the floral arrangement contacts a surface of the sheet of material having the sticky element disposed thereon, and wherein the sticky element on a surface of the sheet of material effectively causes a permanent attachment of an insect thereto when any portion of the insect contacts said sticky element.
