An ink jet recording material is disclosed. The material comprises a support and an ink absorptive layer wherein the ink jet recording material has continuous ratio of voids of from 20 to 100 percent.

An ink jet recording material comprising a support and provided thereon an ink absorptive layer wherein the ink jet recording material has continuous ratio of voids of from 20 to 100 percent.
The ink jet recording material of claim 6, wherein the ink absorptive layer is composed of at least two layers, and at least one layer comprises at least 30 percent of voids formed by employing organic materials.
