Apparatus to prevent radiation source delivery device from being contaminated during brachytherapy procedure

A protective cover to help prevent contamination of a device during an intravascular procedure, said protective cover comprising:

• a top sheet;
• a bottom sheet;
• at least one seal attaching said top sheet and said bottom sheet, said at least one seal capable of forming a protective pouch around a connector when said connector is positioned between said top sheet and said bottom sheet, said at least one seal attaching said top sheet and said bottom sheet such that said top sheet and said bottom sheet may be separated and peeled away from said connector in a proximal to distal direction to expose said connector for attachment to said device.

A protective cover to help prevent contamination of a device during an intravascular procedure, said protective cover comprising:

• a top sheet, said top sheet having a proximal end and a distal end;
• a bottom sheet, said bottom sheet having a proximal end and a distal end;
• at least one seal attaching said top sheet to said bottom sheet, said at least one seal capable of forming a protective pouch around a connector when said connector is positioned between said top sheet and said bottom sheet, said at least one seal attaching said top sheet and said bottom sheet such that said top sheet and said bottom sheet may be separated and peeled away from said connector in a proximal to distal direction to expose said connector for attachment to said device.

An apparatus to help prevent contamination of a device during an intravascular procedure comprising:

• a connector, said connector for attachment to a device;
• a protective cover, wherein said protective cover is sealed around said connector, and wherein said protective cover may be peeled away from said connector to allow said connector to be attached to said device.
