Abstract
An object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge in which an optimum range of toner charging amount is wide and excellent gradient can be obtained, and which has an image bearing body and a developer carrying body, wherein an electrostatic capacity of the image bearing body per cm2 is not less than 150 pF and not greater than 600 pF.

An image forming apparatus comprising:
- an image bearing body;
- and
- a developer carrying body contacted with said image bearing body and adapted to develop an electrostatic image formed on said image bearing body with developer;
- wherein an electrostatic capacity of said image bearing body per cm2 is not less than 150 pF and not greater than 600 pF.

A process cartridge detachably attachable to a main body of an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- an image bearing body;
- and
- a developer carrying body contacted with said image bearing body and adapted to develop an electrostatic image formed on said image bearing body with developer;
- wherein an electrostatic capacity of said image bearing body per cm2 is not less than 150 pF and not greater than 600 pF.
