Method for adjusting magnetic and optical heads in magneto-optical recording device

A magneto-optical memory device comprising:

• a first unit projecting a light beam onto a desired position on a recording medium;
• and
• a second unit applying a magnetic field to a position onto which the light beam is projected,
• the second unit applying the magnetic field to the recording medium so that a magnetic field rate of change of the magnetic field generated by the second unit becomes large,
• the relative positions of the second unit and the first unit being adjusted in accordance with a reproduced signal amplitude thus obtained.

A magneto-optical memory device comprising:

• a magnetic head for applying a magnetic field to a recording medium;
• an arm for supporting the magnetic head at one end of the arm;
• and
• a supporting portion for supporting a remaining end of the arm,
• wherein a pressing member for pressing the remaining end of the arm to the supporting portion is fixedly mounted on the supporting portion, the arm being fixedly mounted on the pressing portion after the position of the magnetic head has been adjusted.
