Abstract
A fuse stab connector for electronic modules is described in which a fuse is associated with an electronic module so that the connector for the fuse to a circuit also serves as an electromechanical connector of a module to the fuse, a primary circuit, and primary circuit mechanical structure.
Claims19
A connector for connecting an electrical circuit to a replaceable electronic module, said connector comprising a fuse fixedly attached and in electrical communication with the module, a clip attached to the circuit, and an electromechanical connection between the module and the circuit comprising the clip and the fuse.
An electrical connection comprising:
- an elongate fuse having first and second terminuses coincident to respective first and second ends, said terminuses separated externally by an insulator;
- an electrical module comprising a module circuit in electrical communication with the first fuse terminus and a module housing substantially enclosing the module circuit;
- a second electrical circuit in electrical communication with a clip;
- and,
- an electromechanical connection between the second terminus and the clip to maintain the first and second circuits in releasable electrical communication and geometric proximity.
A connector for releasably mechanically and electricaly attaching an electronic module to a power distribution circuit comprising:
- the module comprising a first clip facing outward from a module housing, said first clip in electrical connection with module circuitry;
- an elongate fuse electrically and frictionally engaged at a first end to the first clip and centrally only mechanically attached the module housing;
- a second clip attached to the power distribution circuit facing outward therefrom;
- and,
- a releasable frictional electromechanical connection between the second end of the fuse and the second clip.
A connector for connecting an electrical circuit to a replaceable electronic module, said connector comprising a fuse fixedly attached and in electrical communication with the circuit, a clip attached to the module, and an electromechanical connection between the module and the circuit comprising the clip and the fuse.
