A semiconductor device for controlling a driver circuit configured to drive an electronic device, comprising:

• a first processing circuit configured to control the driver circuit according to a device address setting signal from outside and a control signal from outside;
• and
• a second processing circuit provided independently of the first processing circuit and configured to control the driver circuit under a preset condition,
• wherein, based on the device address setting signal falling within a predetermined condition, the first processing circuit is configured to be enabled and the second processing circuit is configured to be disabled, and based on the device address setting signal deviating from the predetermined condition, the second processing circuit is configured to be enabled and the first processing circuit is configured to be disabled, and
• wherein the first processing circuit is configured to be enabled based on the device address setting signal being equal to or greater than a threshold value.

A semiconductor device having a driver circuit configured to drive a connected load, comprising:

• an external terminal configured to be connected to a resistor;
• a first processing circuit configured to select a device operation based on information obtained according to a resistance value of the resistor;
• and
• a second processing circuit provided independently of the first processing circuit,
• wherein one of the first processing circuit and the second processing circuit is configured to control the driver circuit according to a control signal from outside, and the other of the first processing circuit and the second processing circuit is configured to control the driver circuit based on preset information independent of the control signal from outside, and
• wherein one of the first processing circuit and the second processing circuit is enabled according to whether the information obtained according to the resistance value is within a predetermined valid range, and only the enabled one of the first processing circuit and the second processing circuit controls the driver circuit.
