Image capturing control apparatus, image processing apparatus, image capturing control method, non-transitory computer readable storage medium, image capturing apparatus, and device using the image capturing apparatus

An image capturing control method for causing image capturing to be performed by an image sensor having a plurality of pixel blocks, each of the pixel blocks having a plurality of pixels, the method comprising:

• determining an exposure condition for each of the pixel blocks;
• holding a light emission cycle of a light source that emits light cyclically;
• and
• setting, based on the exposure condition, a first exposure period in a first period in a frame period in the image capturing and setting a second exposure period in a second period following the first period and shorter than the light emission cycle in the frame period, the first exposure period including a charge accumulation period longer than or equal to the light emission cycle.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program causing a computer to execute image capturing control, the image capturing control comprising:

• determining an exposure condition for each of the pixel blocks;
• holding a light emission cycle of a light source that emits light cyclically;
• and
• setting, based on the exposure condition, a first exposure period in a first period in a frame period in the image capturing and setting a second exposure period in a second period following the first period and shorter than the light emission cycle in the frame period, the first exposure period including a charge accumulation period longer than or equal to the light emission cycle.

An image capturing apparatus comprising:

• an image sensor;
• an image capturing control apparatus that causes image capturing to be performed by the image sensor having a plurality of pixel blocks, each of the pixel blocks having a plurality of pixels;
• and
• an image processing apparatus that processes an image signal captured by the image sensor controlled by the image capturing control apparatus,
• wherein the image capturing control apparatus comprises a storing unit configured to hold a light emission cycle of a light source that emits light cyclically, and a controller configured to control a first period and a second period in a frame period in the image capturing, the second period following the first period and being shorter than the light emission cycle,
• wherein, for each of the pixel blocks, based on an exposure condition determined for the pixel block, the controller sets a first exposure period in the first period and sets a second exposure period in the second period, the first exposure period including a charge accumulation period longer than or equal to the light emission cycle, and
• wherein the image processing apparatus generates a composite image of a first image captured in the first exposure period and a second image captured in the second exposure period, by performing weighted addition on the first image and the second image with a predetermined ratio for each pixel.
