Abstract
A new compound (NH4)3H2[BOB(PO4)3] was prepared and found to conduct protons under a variety of temperature conditions relevant to fuel cell operation. Also described is the related material Rbx(NH4)3-xH2(BOB(PO4)3) where 0>x≥3.
Claims9
The compound (NH4)3H2[BOB(PO4)3].
A method of preparing (NH4)3H2[BOB(PO4)3], the method comprising:
- mixing (NH4)2HPO4 and H3BO3 in an ionic liquid;
- and
- subjecting the mixture to greater than standard temperature, thereby obtaining (NH4)3H2[BOB(PO4)3].
An electrochemical device comprising:
- (NH4)3H2[BOB(PO4)3] configured as a separator membrane and/or electrode of the electrochemical device,
- wherein the electrochemical device is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen fuel cells, flow batteries, and electrolyzers.
