A method for authentication of an asset, comprising:

• embedding biological material of a creator of the asset at a first location, wherein the biological material includes DNA particles within a protective coating to mitigate breakdown and embedded in the asset;
• retaining the first location in an encrypted form;
• determining a set of particle properties from the asset, wherein each property of the set of particle properties includes a measurable or ascertainable property of the asset;
• correlating the set of particle properties with a set of locations on the asset to generate a particle asset map for the asset, wherein the set of locations respectively correspond to a location on the asset where a respective particle property is determined;
• retaining the particle asset map for the asset;
• receiving input indicative of one or more properties determined based on the asset and indicative of a biomarker of the creator of the asset;
• comparing the particle asset map for the asset to the input received and comparing the input indicative of the biomarker of the creator to the biological material embedded at the location encrypted;
• and
• authenticating the asset based on the comparison.
