Abstract
A method of receiving information from a first notice of a loss may be disclosed. A person may provide a description of a loss event. The description may be stored in a memory. The communication may be converted to text using a voice transcription system. The text may then be analyzed to determine if the text relates to know fields. If the determination is positive, the text is placed in the detected field. Once the fields are full, an index is calculated.
Claims11
A computer-implemented method of receiving information for a first notice of loss for a vehicle loss, the method comprising:
- receiving, by one or more processors, an oral communication to report the vehicle loss;
- storing electronic audio data of the oral communication in a memory;
- converting the electronic audio data to transcribed text using a voice transcription system;
- determining whether words or phrases in the transcribed text relate to known first notice of loss fields using a field detection model;
- in response to determining that a word or phrase in the transcribed text relates to a known first notice of loss field, using a value detection module to extract and associate a value from the transcribed text with the known first notice of loss field in an electronic first notice of loss record;
- after the words or phrases in the transcribed text have been analyzed, calculating, using a completeness index calculation module, a numerical completeness index for the electronic first notice of loss record;
- wherein the completeness index calculation module analyzes at least one of a total number of first notice of loss fields filled, an accuracy of detected values, an importance of each field in the context of straight-through processing prediction, and a presence of required or conditional fields;
- wherein calculating the numerical completeness index comprises applying a weighted scoring system that assigns greater importance to critical first notice of loss fields;
- based on the numerical completeness index, determining whether interactive questions are needed to fill first notice of loss fields and obtain an acceptable completeness index score;
- wherein, when the numerical completeness index is below a threshold, the method further comprises automatically asking questions based on a category of the vehicle loss to fill one or more first notice of loss fields;
- receiving responses to the questions;
- using the responses to update the one or more first notice of loss fields;
- in response to text in a response not being understood, using machine language to interpret the text and repeat the interpreted text back;
- and
- based on the interpreted text and the updated one or more first notice of loss fields, recalculating the numerical completeness index.
