Systems and techniques for updating logical-to-physical mappings

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code comprising instructions which, when executed by processing circuitry of a memory system, cause the memory system to:

• write data to a plurality of contiguous pages of a non-volatile memory device of the memory system;
• write an entry to a change log associated with updating logical-to-physical mapping information associated with the data, the entry of the change log comprising a first indication of a virtual block that comprises the plurality of contiguous pages, a second indication of a quantity of the plurality of contiguous pages, and a third indication of a logical address associated with the data;
• and
• update the logical-to-physical mapping information to map the logical address associated with the data to the plurality of contiguous pages in accordance with the second indication of the quantity of the plurality of contiguous pages and the third indication of the logical address associated with the data, wherein the updating is in response to identifying the virtual block that comprises the plurality of contiguous pages, and wherein the identifying is in accordance with a mapping between the first indication of the virtual block and an identifier of the virtual block.

A method, comprising:

• writing data to a plurality of contiguous pages of a non-volatile memory device of a memory system;
• writing an entry to a change log associated with updating logical-to-physical mapping information associated with the data, the entry of the change log comprising a first indication of a virtual block that comprises the plurality of contiguous pages, a second indication of a quantity of the plurality of contiguous pages, and a third indication of a logical address associated with the data;
• and
• updating the logical-to-physical mapping information to map the logical address associated with the data to the plurality of contiguous pages in accordance with the second indication of the quantity of the plurality of contiguous pages and the third indication of the logical address associated with the data, wherein the updating is in response to identifying the virtual block that comprises the plurality of contiguous pages, and wherein the identifying is in accordance with a mapping between the first indication of the virtual block and an identifier of the virtual block.
