Abstract
A privilege-free chaos engine testing environment is provided. A reverse proxy provided on a communication line between a first resource and a plurality of second resources intercepts communications from the first source intended for the plurality of second resources. Mirror communications (URLs) of the first communication and generated. A chaos scenario is selectively injected into the mirror communication according to a chaos policy to generate a response communication. The response communication is transmitted to the first.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- providing a reverse proxy on a communication line between a first resource and a plurality of second resources;
- selectively intercepting a first communication from the first resource intended for the plurality of second resources;
- generating a mirror communication of the first communication;
- injecting a chaos scenario into the mirror communication according to a chaos policy to generate a response communication;
- and
- transmitting the response communication to the first resource.
A system comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor that is operatively coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured to perform the operations of:
- providing a reverse proxy on a communication line between a first resource and a plurality of second resources;
- selectively intercepting a first communication from the first resource intended for the plurality of second resources;
- generating a mirror communication of the first communication;
- injecting a chaos scenario into the mirror communication according to a chaos policy to generate a response communication;
- and
- transmitting the response communication to the first resource.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing one or more processor-executable instructions, which when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to perform the operations of:
- providing a reverse proxy on a communication line between a first resource and a plurality of second resources;
- selectively intercepting a first communication from the first resource intended for the plurality of second resources;
- generating a mirror communication of the first communication;
- injecting a chaos scenario into the mirror communication according to a chaos policy to generate a response communication;
- and
- transmitting the response communication to the first resource.
