Sound output device with sound outputting based on object approach detection, method and program

A sound output method comprising:

• continuously storing ambient sound in a storage;
• detecting, by a first detector, an approach of an object in a vicinity of a first outputter;
• and
• on a basis of the first detector detecting the approach of the object:
• extracting an audio portion from the storage starting from a point in time a few seconds prior to the detection,
• causing the first outputter to output a first sound including the audio portion, and
• causing a second outputter to output a second sound including a masking sound.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a computer program,

• the program causing an electronic apparatus to execute processing comprising:
• continuously storing ambient sound in a storage;
• detecting, by a first detector, an approach of an object in a vicinity of a first outputter;
• and
• on a basis of the first detector detecting the approach of the object:
• extracting an audio portion from the storage starting from a point in time a few seconds prior to the detection,
• causing the first outputter to output a first sound including the audio portion, and
• causing a second outputter to output a second sound including a masking sound.
