Continuous monitoring and control of multiple utility consumption in a building

An apparatus to monitor and control multiple utility consumption associated with a building, the apparatus comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled with the memory, the at least one processor being configured to:
• access, via at least a first server executing on the at least one processor, real-time utility usage data from a plurality of utility devices associated with different types of utilities in the building;
• parse the utility usage data accessed via the first server according to data types associated with the different types of utilities, in order to generate individual data streams including utility consumption information associated with the different types of utilities;
• store the individual data streams in the memory;
• retrieve, via at least a second server executing on the at least one processor, at least a subset of the individual data streams from the memory based on a client request from a requesting client for the utility consumption information, the subset of the individual data streams associated with at least several different types of utilities, retrieval access based on a comparison of access information stored in a building access table with identification information associated with the requesting client;
• parse and aggregate, via the second server, the subset of the retrieved individual data streams and to return the parsed and aggregated data streams to the requesting client;
• display, via a display device coupled with the apparatus the parsed and aggregated subset of the individual data streams associated with the several different types of utilities in a prescribed format controlled by the requesting client, thus presenting to the requesting client integrated information regarding the multiple utility consumption associated with the building;
• and
• control consumption of one or more of the several different types of utilities via associated utility devices based on the parsed and aggregated subset of the individual data streams.

A computer program product, comprising a non-transitory computer usable medium having computer readable instructions embodied therein, the computer-readable instructions adapted to be executed by at least one processor to implement a method of monitoring and controlling multiple utility consumption associated with a building, the method comprising:

• accessing, via at least a first server, real-time utility usage data from a plurality of utility devices associated with different types of utilities in the building;
• parsing the utility usage data accessed via the first server according to data types associated with the different types of utilities, in order to generate individual data streams including utility consumption information associated with the different types of utilities;
• storing the individual data streams in a memory;
• retrieving, via at least a second server, at least a subset of the individual data streams from the memory based on a client request from a requesting client for the utility consumption information, the subset of the individual data streams associated with at least several different types of utilities, retrieval access based on a comparison of access information stored in a building access table with identification information associated with the requesting client;
• parsing and aggregating, via the second server, the subset of the retrieved individual data streams and returning the parsed and aggregated data streams to the requesting client;
• displaying, via a display device, the parsed and aggregated subset of the individual data streams associated with the several different types of utilities in a prescribed format controlled by the requesting client, thus presenting to the requesting client integrated information regarding the multiple utility consumption associated with the building;
• and
• controlling consumption of one or more of the several different types of utilities via associated utility devices based on the parsed and aggregated subset of the individual data streams.
