Electro-optic modulator integrating micro-capacitor

An electro-optic modulator integrating a micro-capacitor, comprising:

• a beam splitter, configured to divide an input optical signal into a first optical path signal propagating along a first optical path and a second optical path signal propagating along a second optical path;
• a beam combiner, configured to interferometrically combine the first optical path signal and the second optical path signal before outputting a modulated optical signal;
• a first electro-optic phase shifter, arranged in the first optical path and configured to generate a first phase shift for the first optical path signal when a driving electrical signal is applied;
• a second electro-optic phase shifter, arranged in the second optical path and configured to generate a second phase shift for the second optical path signal when the driving electrical signal is applied;
• and
• a plurality of micro-capacitors, electrically connected to the first electro-optic phase shifter and/or the second electro-optic phase shifter in an asymmetric manner, so that when a same driving electrical signal is applied, the first electro-optic phase shifter generates a phase shift different to a phase shift generated by the second electro-optic phase shifter, thereby a modulated optical signal having a fixed chirp amplitude is output from a whole light output port of the beam combiner.
