Abstract
A lighting element assembly and method of assembling a lighting element, including an optical element having a leg extending away from the optical element, a base, and a retention element configured to retain the leg relative to the base.
Claims14
A lighting element assembly, comprising:
- an optical element having a leg extending away from the optical element, the leg including a compressible material;
- a base defining a depression portion receiving the leg;
- and
- a retention element received by at least a portion of the depression portion and configured to retain the leg relative to the base;
- wherein the leg is configured to compress in response to receiving the retention element in the depression portion, wherein the retention element is a ring, and wherein a central opening of the ring is configured to receive an outer perimeter of the optical element.
