- administering to the subject by subcutaneous injection a pharmaceutical composition comprising a dose of omalizumab,
- wherein body weight of the subject is greater than 15 kg and less than or equal to 20 kg,
- wherein total serum IgE level of the subject is determined prior to administration of a first dose of omalizumab and when the total serum IgE level of the subject is:
- (i) greater than 100 IU/ml and less than or equal to 200 IU/ml, the pharmaceutical composition is administered once about every four weeks and the dose of omalizumab is 75 mg;
- or
- (ii) greater than 500 IU/ml and less than or equal to 600 IU/ml, the pharmaceutical composition is administered once about every four weeks and the dose of omalizumab is 225 mg;
- or
- (iii) greater than 600 IU/ml and less than or equal to 700 IU/ml, the pharmaceutical composition is administered once about every four weeks and the dose of omalizumab is 225 mg;
- or
- (iv) greater than 700 IU/ml and less than or equal to 800 IU/ml, the pharmaceutical composition is administered once about every two weeks and the dose of omalizumab is 150 mg;
- or
- (v) greater than 800 IU/ml and less than or equal to 900 IU/ml, the pharmaceutical composition is administered once about every two weeks and the dose of omalizumab is 150 mg;
- or
- (vi) greater than 1100 IU/ml and less than or equal to 1200 IU/ml, the pharmaceutical composition is administered once about every two weeks and the dose of omalizumab is 225 mg;
- or
- (vii) greater than 1200 IU/ml and less than or equal to 1300 IU/ml, the pharmaceutical composition is administered once about every two weeks and the dose of omalizumab is 225 mg,
- and wherein the method comprises reducing the severity of an allergic reaction in the subject to the food allergen or reducing the incidence of allergic reaction in the subject to the food allergen.
