Abstract
An apparatus for iterative exchange of liquid reagents that enables introduction and removal of liquids within a reaction space. The apparatus supports reagent flow through a channel oriented such that liquid exchange occurs via a higher opening and a lower opening. The configuration facilitates repeated reagent exchange while maintaining sample positioning and minimizing disturbance during use.
Claims12
An apparatus for iterative exchange of liquid reagents, the apparatus comprising:
- (a) at least one open reaction chamber comprising a solid planar cover, at least two parallel spacing strips, and a solid planar support;
- wherein the at least two parallel spacing strips have a length and a first surface affixed to the solid planar support;
- wherein the solid planar cover is affixed to the at least two parallel spacing strips on a second surface of the at least two parallel spacing strips opposite the first surface, thereby forming a channel comprising a first opening at a first end of the channel and a second opening at a second end of the channel;
- wherein the first surface of the at least two parallel spacing strips affixed to the solid planar support has higher tack than the second surface of the at least two parallel spacing strips affixed to the solid planar cover, or vice versa;
- and
- wherein a dimension of the solid planar support in a direction parallel to the length of the at least two parallel spacing strips is greater than a dimension of the solid planar cover in the direction parallel to the length of the at least two parallel spacing strips, such that the solid planar support extends further than the solid planar cover, thereby forming an overhang;
- and
- (b) at least one rack connected to the at least one open reaction chamber, wherein when positioned upright for use for iterative exchange of liquid reagents, the channel of the at least one open-reaction chamber in (a) is at an angle of 5-85 degrees with respect to the gravity vector of the Earth, with the first opening positioned higher than the second opening.
