A method for ameliorating adverse side effects associated with a sub-cutaneous region exhibiting impedance that is different than the surrounding tissue and/or organ, in a subject in need thereof, implemented in a device comprising a wand having a plurality of needles adapted to penetrate a surface of a user's skin, a radio frequency (RF) generator, arranged to deliver RF energy to an area beneath the penetrated skin via at least one needle of the plurality of needles, and a central processing module (CPM), in communication with the wand, and the RF generator operable to control:
- the depth of penetration of each needle of the plurality of needles, an intensity of RF energy delivery by the RF generator to the area beneath the penetrated skin, and optionally, the polarity of each needle of the plurality of needles penetrated into the area beneath the penetrated skin, the method comprising:
- a) penetrating a skin surface above sub-cutaneous region with the plurality of needles;
- b) delivering radiofrequency (RF) energy via at least one needle to the sub-cutaneous region;
- c) controlling, via the central processing module (CPM):
- i. penetration depth of each needle;
- ii. RF energy delivery parameters to the area beneath a penile skin;
- and
- iii. Optionally, polarity assignment of each needle;
- d) automatically adjusting needle penetration depth using processor-executed instructions;
- e) measuring electrical impedance through each needle;
- and
- f) dynamically assigning needle polarity based on measured impedance.
