Abstract
Provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for treating kidney stones. In particular, provided herein are endoscopic (e.g., ureteroscope) devices with improved properties, as well as systems, and related methods for use in treating kidney stones and other applications.

An endoscopic device, comprising:
- components including a suction tube defining at least a portion of a suction channel, a pull cable including a pull wire translating therein, and camera wires;
- a handle at a proximal end of the endoscopic device, the handle comprising a housing defining an internal space;
- a first fluid port adapted to receive fluid from a fluid source, the first fluid port comprising a proximal opening and a distal opening, wherein the components extend through the proximal opening and the distal opening;
- a distal end including an outer surface and a suction port in fluid communication with the suction tube, the suction port including an opening in the outer surface, the distal end further comprising anti-clog elements comprising protrusions on the outer surface adjacent to said opening, the protrusions extending distally and configured to prevent occlusion of the suction port by forming depressions between the protrusions;
- an outer housing extending distally from the handle to the distal end, the outer housing surrounding an interstitial space and portions of the components extending from the handle into the outer housing, a proximal end of the outer housing being sealingly received in the distal opening of the first fluid port, proximally of the proximal opening of the first fluid port, to establish fluid communication between the interstitial space and the first fluid port, whereby the fluid provided at the first fluid port can flow into the interstitial space and directly contact at least the suction channel and the pull cable;
- an interstitial flow opening at the distal end of the endoscopic device in fluid communication with the first fluid port and the interstitial space, the interstitial flow opening configured to discharge the fluid;
- a first fluid seal positioned in the handle to seal at least the suction tube and the pull cable and prevent the fluid in the interstitial space from flowing into the internal space of the handle;
- a second fluid seal located proximally of the first fluid seal to seal a proximal end of the suction tube;
- a laser fiber seal located proximally of the second fluid seal, a proximal portion of the suction channel extending between the proximal end of the suction tube and the laser fiber seal;
- and
- a second fluid port in fluid communication with the proximal portion of the suction channel and configured to apply suction through the suction channel.
The endoscopic device of 5, wherein the outer housing in a non-articulated position has a centerline that defines a Y-axis, wherein an X-axis is perpendicular to the Y-axis, wherein a Z-axis is perpendicular to the Y-axis and the X-axis, and wherein the opening of the suction port is angled at an angle of 120-160 degrees about the Y-axis of the endoscopic device.
