Golf shoe

A golf shoe comprising:

• an outsole comprising golf shoe traction features;
• a midsole supported by the outsole;
• a propulsion plate supported by the midsole, the propulsion plate being designed to return energy during a golf swing;
• and
• an upper assembly supported by the propulsion plate and the midsole;
• wherein:
• the upper assembly comprises an upper comprising a microfiber material and a flexible Strobel construction sock;
• the propulsion plate comprises carbon fiber composite material;
• the propulsion plate defines a groove extending into the propulsion plate in a substantially posterior direction from an anterior end of the propulsion plate, the groove being positioned on a lateral side of a portion of the propulsion plate that is configured to support a first toe of a wearer;
• the propulsion plate is seated in a cavity of the midsole;
• a portion of the propulsion plate located on an anterior side of a flex zone of the golf shoe reaches a maximum positive angle relative to a portion of the propulsion plate located on a posterior side of the flex zone, wherein the maximum positive angle is from five degrees to sixteen degrees;
• the golf shoe comprises golf shoe spike receptacles and the propulsion plate extends over at least a portion of each of the golf shoe spike receptacles;
• the golf shoe comprises a breathable waterproof gasket between the upper and the midsole;
• and
• the midsole comprises nitrogen infused supercritical foam having a hardness from forty-seven to fifty-three using an Asker durometer Type C hardness test.

A golf shoe comprising:

• an outsole comprising golf shoe traction features;
• a midsole supported by the outsole;
• a propulsion plate supported by the midsole, the propulsion plate being designed to return energy during a golf swing, and a bending stiffness of the propulsion plate for positive bending around a medial-lateral axis is greater than a bending stiffness of the propulsion plate for negative bending around the medial-lateral axis;
• and
• an upper assembly supported by the propulsion plate and the midsole;
• wherein:
• the upper assembly comprises an upper comprising a microfiber material and a flexible Strobel construction sock;
• the propulsion plate comprises carbon fiber composite material;
• the propulsion plate defines a groove extending into the propulsion plate in a substantially posterior direction from an anterior end of the propulsion plate, the groove being positioned on a lateral side of a portion of the propulsion plate that is configured to support a first toe of a wearer;
• the propulsion plate is seated in a cavity of the midsole;
• a portion of the propulsion plate located on an anterior side of a flex zone of the golf shoe reaches a maximum positive angle relative to a portion of the propulsion plate located on a posterior side of the flex zone, wherein the maximum positive angle is from five degrees to sixteen degrees;
• the golf shoe comprises a breathable waterproof gasket between the upper and the midsole;
• and
• the midsole comprises nitrogen infused supercritical foam having a hardness from forty-seven to fifty-three using an Asker durometer Type C hardness test.
