Abstract
The present invention provides an inbred corn line designated JRFF6809, methods for producing a corn plant by crossing plants of the inbred line JRFF6809 with plants of another corn plant. The invention further encompasses all parts of inbred corn line JRFF6809, including culturable cells. Additionally provided herein are methods for introducing transgenes into inbred corn line JRFF6809, and plants produced according to these methods.
Claims20
A seed of maize variety JRFF6809, wherein representative seed of said maize variety JRFF6809 has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-127664.
A plant of maize variety JRFF6809, wherein representative seed of said maize variety JRFF6809 has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-127664.
A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of maize variety JRFF6809, representative seed of the maize variety JRFF6809 having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-127664, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell comprises a locus conversion, and wherein the plant or a plant grown from the converted seed, plant part or plant cell comprises the locus conversion and otherwise comprises the phenotypic characteristics of maize variety JRFF6809 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
A process of introducing an additional gene into maize plant JRFF6809 comprising:
- (a) crossing JRFF6809 plants grown from JRFF6809 seeds, representative seeds deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-127664, with plants of another maize variety that comprise an additional gene to produce hybrid progeny plants, (b) selecting hybrid progeny plants that have the additional gene to produce selected hybrid progeny plants;
- (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the JRFF6809 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the additional gene to produce selected backcross progeny plants;
- and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) at least three or more times to produce backcross progeny plants that comprise the additional gene and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize inbred plant JRFF6809 when grown in the same environmental conditions.
