Method and device for user equipment positioning

A first distributed device, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing programming, the programming including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the first distributed device to perform operations including:
• receiving, from a central device of a radio access network (RAN) node, first uplink signal configuration information;
• measuring an uplink signal from a user equipment (UE) in accordance with the first uplink signal configuration information;
• and
• sending, to the central device, a first uplink signal measurement result of the uplink signal for determination of a position of the UE.

At least one non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a first distributed device, cause the first distributed device to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• receiving, from a central device of a radio access network (RAN) node, first uplink signal configuration information;
• measuring an uplink signal from a user equipment (UE) in accordance with the first uplink signal configuration information;
• and
• sending, to the central device, a first uplink signal measurement result of the uplink signal for determination of a position of the UE.
