Carrier phase positioning techniques

An apparatus for wireless communication comprising at least one processor, configured to implement a method that causes the apparatus to:

• receive, by a wireless device from a network device, configuration information of a reference signal;
• perform, by the wireless device, a carrier phase measurement of a carrier that includes the reference signal;
• and
• send, by wireless device, a measurement report comprising a result of the carrier phase measurement of the carrier and a time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurement of the carrier, wherein the carrier includes the reference signal, wherein a reference point used in a timing differential-based positioning technique is same as that used in the carrier phase measurement, wherein the reference point is a reference transmission reception point (TRP).

A non-transitory computer readable program storage medium having code stored thereon, the code, when executed by at least one processor of an apparatus, causes the apparatus to implement a method, comprising:

• receiving, by a wireless device from a network device, configuration information of a reference signal;
• performing, by the wireless device, a carrier phase measurement of a carrier that includes the reference signal;
• and
• sending, by wireless device, a measurement report comprising a result of the carrier phase measurement of the carrier and a time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurement of the carrier, wherein the carrier includes the reference signal, wherein a reference point used in a timing differential-based positioning technique is same as that used in the carrier phase measurement, wherein the reference point is a reference transmission reception point (TRP).
